The library’s updated online catalog lets you search for items, place holds, and create lists, making finding and managing your library materials easier than ever!
You can access our Online Public Access Catalog, or OPAC, by clicking or tapping the “Find an Item” link in the main menu at the top of this page, or by searching with the magnifying glass icon.
At its core, the OPAC performs the same function as the old physical card catalogs (remember those?). You can search for items by keyword, title, author, etc.
Advanced Search lets you narrow things down to see only certain types of items or items that have just been added to our collection.
Once you’ve found an item you want, you can press the Reserve Item button to place it on hold. We’ll give you a call when the item is ready to be picked up!
You can also create lists of items. Maybe you want to keep track of library books you plan to read or DVDs you want to check out at a later date. To add an item to a list, just go to Actions on the item’s page and click Save to List.
You can see and do a number of things in the OPAC relating to your individual library account.
Click My Account and enter the barcode number from the back of your library card to go to your Patron Details screen.
On this screen, you can see the items you currently have checked out and their due dates. If you need a little more time, you can renew your items directly from this page.
You can also see items you’ve reserved, any fines on your account, and a history of what you’ve checked out (going back 60 days).
If you have any questions about using the OPAC, feel free to reach out using the information under Contact Us at the bottom of this page!
