As of today (Monday, May 4th), we are restarting our curbside delivery service.
With curbside delivery, you can reserve items by phone (946-3432) or online (https://catalog.pulaskicounty.lib.in.us/WebOpac/). We’ll gather your items and let you know when they’re available.
Item pickup will be available Monday-Friday 10:00-6:00 and Saturday 10:00-2:00. Park in one of the handicap parking spaces in the front of the building and call us to let us know you're here.
We'll bring the items out to your vehicle and give them to you using a contactless transfer stand. Please remain in your vehicle while we bring out the items to help us maintain good social distancing.
While we are filling reserves as quickly as possible, we can't guarantee when particular items will be available. In general it will take until at least the following day for reserves to be filled. Please wait until we call you to come to pick up your items.
Our front book drop is open for you to return library materials. This does not mean that you are required to return your items immediately. All due dates have been extended through June 1st, and late fees are not being charged at this time.
That said, if you do want to return your items soon, we are asking patrons to observe the following schedule for returns:
- If your last name begins with the letters A-H, you can return your items on Tuesday, May 5th;
- I-P: Wednesday, May 6th;
- Q-Z: Thursday, May 7th;
- On or after Friday, May 8th, all items can be returned at any time.
This schedule will help us deal with the influx of materials.
The back book drops are still closed due to construction, so all items (including DVDs and audiobooks) can be returned in the front drop.
When items are returned, we are quarantining them for at least 72 hours to ensure that no potential contamination remains before we handle the items. We will not be accepting direct person-to-person returns of materials as part of curbside delivery; please use the book drop instead.
If you or a member of your household is ill, please don't return your items. Contact the library, and we will make arrangements as appropriate.
Note that the library building itself is not opening to the public at this time.
The Covid-19 situation is always changing. We are continually evaluating and updating our procedures to balance safety and service. Details and plans may change based on new information. To stay up to date on the latest library news, keep an eye on our website or follow our Facebook page.
