Every month, the Imagination Library mails high-quality, age-appropriate books to children under the age of five, at no cost to the child’s family.

Arrow Head RC&D recently partnered with the Pulaski County Public Library to launch the program in our area to promote early childhood literacy throughout the county.

Children are eligible to receive free Imagination Library books from birth until age five. The only requirement for the local program is that participating children must reside in Pulaski County.

Official registration forms are now available at the library. Participants can also register online at www.imaginationlibrary.com. Forms can be completed by a parent or guardian.

Eight to ten weeks following registration, books (addressed to the child) will begin arriving at the participant’s home. The books will advance as your child’s reading skills progress.

Since launching in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has become the world’s premier early childhood book gifting program. Dolly’s vision was to create a lifelong love of reading, prepare children for school, and inspire them to dream.

Recent studies suggest participation in the Imagination Library program is associated with higher measures of early language and math development. Penguin Random House is the program’s exclusive publisher.

The Pulaski County Public Library is responsible for the program’s implementation, and Arrow Head RC&D is managing donations and billing for the program.

Arrow Head RC&D representative Howard Conner stated “We are incredibly pleased to provide a boost to Pulaski County area children towards a successful education with the Imagination Library”.

Pulaski County Public Library Director MacKenzie Ledley affirmed, “Thanks to our partners at Arrow Head RC&D, and with the support of our caring community, we are able to launch the Imagination Library locally, encouraging good reading habits before children enter school.”

Funding for Pulaski County’s Imagination Library program is raised through local charitable donations. Donations can be mailed to: Arrow Head RC&D, PO Box 196, Winamac, IN 46996.  Checks should be made out to Arrow Head RC&D.
