In light of the recent passing of civil rights leader John Lewis, we're giving away multiple copies of two books: March and Preaching to the Chickens: The Story of Young John Lewis.
March is an autobiographical graphic novel trilogy about the Civil Rights Movement, written by Lewis and told from his perspective as he experienced it. Preaching to the Chickens is an illustrated children’s book that gives a glimpse into Lewis’s life as a young boy.
The library is providing these books to interested readers free of charge in order to increase awareness of this civil rights icon.
Books are available one per family to resident library card holders. You may choose either March or Preaching to the Chickens. Due to limited quantities, we may not be able to fill all requests.
To place your request, complete the form here: https://forms.gle/Fz8HjqWYj8Cy4xGP8
Digital copies of the March trilogy are also available on Overdrive & Libby, the library’s online e-book service. Click the link on our website or download the Libby app to check them out.
