Although the level of encryption in use is quite secure, that does not guarantee total security. The General Rules of Internet usage (P.C.P.L. 3.5 - 3.5.2) apply to wireless connections as well. In addition to those rules, policies regarding wireless usage shall include the network. Restricted software is defined as any software that may or does cause harm or loss of productivity to other patron’s or to staff’s or to any other individual’s computers or network, and included, but is not limited to:

  1. Use of spamming software
  2. Spread of Malicious Code
  3. Virus producing Software
  4. Software for the distribution of “bots”
  5. Server based software intended for commercial use

Abuse of the Wireless Network will result in sanctions against the individual which may include, even on a first violation, in the sole discretion of the Library Director, permanent restriction from wireless usage.
