Kanopy

Kanopy is a video streaming service that allows you to watch movies and TV shows with your library card.  The collection contains over 30,000 titles that inspire, entertain, and enrich.  Apps are available for most mobile and smart TV devices.

Checkout Periods:

Length of checkout varies depending on the title.  Movies generally have a loan period of 48-72 hours.  Seasons of TV shows generally have a loan period of 7 to 21 days.  Items return automatically at the end of the loan period.

Holds:

Not needed! You can stream a title even if someone else has it checked out.

Mobile and TV Apps:

Kanopy mobile apps are available for iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire tablets.  Kanopy apps are available for most smart TV devices, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV & Airplay, Chromecast, Android TV, and Samsung TV.

Offline Viewing?

No.  You’ll need an Internet connection when watching a streaming video.  Streaming videos can consume a lot of data, so we recommend streaming over a Wi-Fi or cabled Internet connection.

Number of Checkouts:

30 tickets per month.  The number of tickets required to view a film depends on the type of video selected.  For instance, a feature film generally takes 2 or 3 tickets, while a short video might take just 1, and a full season of a TV series might take 5.  Tickets replenish each calendar month, not when you return an item.  In addition, you can have an unlimited number of plays in Kanopy Kids!
