Join us on Wednesday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m. for a free one-hour lecture to learn about the landscapes, wildlife and history of Antarctica.

Antarctica is the coldest, driest, and windiest place on Earth, filled with geological marvels and remarkable wildlife. In celebration of Earth Day, join Road Scholar expert Nicole Flores for an introduction to this remote continent.

Explore the secrets beneath Antarctica’s icy surface and its fascinating history. Meet the intrepid explorers who ventured into this harsh environment and the people who live and work there today. This lecture offers a vivid glimpse of what one might encounter when visiting this extraordinary frontier.

Nicole was born and raised in Chile. Her passion about her country and the region inspired her to lead programs within and around South America since 1998, including several trips to Antarctica. She is a true believer in lifetime learning, finding travelling to be the best source of inspiration.

This online program from Road Scholar will be presented live over Zoom at the Pulaski County Public Library.
